About the Artist: Mike is a lifelong visual artist, longtime art teacher in the public schools, instructor in public art at Albright College, and resident artist with an emphasis on public art. From 2005 to 2012, he spent the summers working with students in the Pennsylvania Migrant Education Program. This intense six-week summer experience inspired him to create Public Art Workshop, a course in my school’s art curriculum that allowed my students not only to see the potential of their art making, but also to connect how art making enables them to become involved in their own communities.  Over the years, this class was responsible for creating multiple landmark projects in the Greater Reading area and involving hundreds of citizens in the creation of public art.
